Where is this water coming from?

I've noticed water coming from this drain lately that I can't correlate to any rain or sprinkler run-off. My sprinklers have been off since last night, the drain was dry this morning, but since about noon I have water running from the drain.

I believe this drain comes from the back yard. The drain is at the front of the house dumping into the gutter. It might just be a coincidence, but I noticed the water draining around the same time as my pool filter and pump came on. I have also noticed what appears to be abnormal water loss from my pool. I'm in the midst of conducting a bucket test to see if the water loss is more than just normal evaporation. Next test will be to shut off the pump for a couple of days and perform the same bucket test.

Are pools typically connected to landscape drainage systems in case of overflow?

Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum.

What kind of filter do you have? Does it have a MPV?

Does the water stop coming out of that drain if you turn the pump off?

Cartridge filter. So no, you will not have a MPV.

In your area I would be surprised if you have an overflow on your pool.
