I've noticed water coming from this drain lately that I can't correlate to any rain or sprinkler run-off. My sprinklers have been off since last night, the drain was dry this morning, but since about noon I have water running from the drain.
I believe this drain comes from the back yard. The drain is at the front of the house dumping into the gutter. It might just be a coincidence, but I noticed the water draining around the same time as my pool filter and pump came on. I have also noticed what appears to be abnormal water loss from my pool. I'm in the midst of conducting a bucket test to see if the water loss is more than just normal evaporation. Next test will be to shut off the pump for a couple of days and perform the same bucket test.
Are pools typically connected to landscape drainage systems in case of overflow?
Any thoughts?
