May the fun begin - conversion of 15 yr Baquacil pool

Good morning!

FC 8
CC 7
TC 15
pH 7.2

Added 1.3 gallons.

Particles smaller. Later today will possibly do some vacuuming to suck up what has probably settled.

May God bless you all this day. Thanks for all the support through this fun time!

The more you brush, the better. Keep in mind the main goal of the conversion is to break down all the Baqua Sanitizer, so the more you’re able to move the water the faster the process will go.

Was gone from the pool for some religion, food and erands. Back at it just before 2pm.

2pm
FC 3.5 (6 hrs of sunlight!)
CC 4
TC 7.5
pH 6.9 - 7.1

Added 2 gallons (pool math wanted 2 cups more than that)
Added 1.5 lbs baking soda, will adjust later as needed.

Vaccuumed through the filter, short backwash afterwards. Not sure if I vaccuumed anything since it cloudy 2.5 ft down

3pm
FC 15.5 (a first to see it that high)
CC 3.5
TC 19
pH 7.1 (gained some ground)

Did not add anything at this point
Picture is current as of 320 pm

5pm
FC 9
CC 4.5
TC 13.5
Added 1/2 gal

7pm
FC 8.5
CC 4
TC 12.5
Added 1/2 gal

930pm (final for day 2)
FC 11.5
CC 4
TC 15.5
pH 7.1
Added 1/2 gal
Added 1.5 lbs baking soda

Particles getting small enough it only makes water cloudy, nothing but tree debris on the surface. 720pm shot from the ringy dingy camera. By 945p when adding chemicals with pool light, can start to make out ledges and steps 3-4 ft deep. Sandy holding her own, didnt feel the need to wash her backwash.

Another fun day of pool ownership!
Good night all... God bless!

Day 3. And welcome to day 3.
This morning we had some rain overnight and will continue for a day or so.

Overnight, dropped only 3 FC points. Looks clearer this morning. By 1130am at my 2nd reading, I can see bottom drains and areas of debris from the conversion which will get vacuuming tonight (unless we get lightening!)

6am
FC 12
CC 4.5
TC 16.5
pH 7.2
Added 1/2 gallon even though recommended was only 1-2 qts.

1130am
FC 11.5
CC 4
TC 15.5
pH 7.0 - 7.1
Added 2-3 qts, 1.5-2 lbs baking soda

Photos from around 1230pm today. Didnt have time to test. 1st pic, goo 3+ ft deep. Small gathering of goo below light. I vaccuumed blindly yesterday, couldn't see past 2.5 ft deep.
