Our pool is under construction and just had a couple questions about lighting. I have attached a picture of where the pb is putting the pool lights. They are Pentair globright. Our house is situated on the lower part of the picture but we do not have any windows facing the pool. Should we have had them put them all on the side facing away from house? Thanks for the help. 4C4CF95C-2777-410B-8CEE-4D4986928A2A.jpeg

Welcome to the forum.
Where will you be sitting when the lights are on? you do not want them shining in your face.

Also, be ware that Pentair Globrites take a proprietary attachment. Thus you will have no alternatives when it comes time to replace them. They last about 3 years and cost $300 a piece, if you buy and install them DIY.

Thanks for the quick reply. Most of the time will be sitting to the left and right of the pool. But also have a patio on the south side of the drawing. I had told them I thought they all should be facing away from the house but they recommended this layout for better light dispersion. I will attach another drawing of our patio.

Looks like a vinyl liner pool. Not sure, they would have to repair the holes they drilled.

Put a light across the pool tonight shining towards the patio. Sit on the patio. Will it bother you? It would me.

When I was building my pool, I remember people telling me on this forum not to point the lights at your house. I have (2) Hayward 300w bulbs. So I placed them on the same side of my house. This way when I come out to go to the pool it’s not shinning in my eyes. I also looked at the led lights for 300. a pop and they only last a few years, it’s just not worth it. Research to see if the leds will have the same effect as regular bulbs. If so move them. It might be an inconvenience now. But once the liner is in, pool is back filled your stuck with it.

I talked to the builder about taking the lights out of the one side and put them all on the side facing away from the house. He said it would be difficult to patch so I decided to add one more light in the shallow end facing away from house and put the 2 on the opposite side on another transformer. So I can turn those off if it ends up being a big deal. Thanks for the help.
