Did they even wash it off with water? That stuff is going to ruin the grass around the decking on top of everything else

Do you have a pic of how it turned out? Did you have to do anything or did it simply fade on its own?

Honestly, aside from the splotching, it looks like nice work.
I would ask for a credit and then see how it plays out. I'm not the OCD type, so I could easily live with that. My wife on the other hand.....

Here are some close ups of the dark spots. Just seems like they got the acid on some spots but not uniformly over the whole deck. I’m hoping it will blend in as it gets warmer outside. I’ve got a former student who owns a concrete coating company coming to take a look this weekend to tell me what he thinks.
Nice when one of the former students can help the teacher out! I have several that I can lean on for help when needed!
I'm afraid that IMO I think your installer did a poor job on a few things. First he left that board in the pool which gave it a slight dent, and the cement is uneven around the edge of the fiberglass. It goes up and down the edge. I was under the impression most folks let the cement go over that edge into being coping. And what ever is on the decking leaving "spilled milk" lines and areas looks horrible.
I hope your guy can redeem these mistakes with the cement or he can hire a cement pro. Consider looking at "Decorative Cement" in your area and see it the PB will pay for that if he can't clean that deck up.

Here is a pic from today, everything looks to be fading together slowly as each day passes. I’m hopeful that the concrete will all blend in as the weather warms up. My wife is much happier now that the handrail is level and the big concrete streaks are gone as she looks out at the pool from the house.

Got some good sunny pics today before the polar weather arrives later in the week. The concrete looks better everyday and my grass seed has finally started to sprout. Thanks to TFP, my pool water is sparkling and crystal clear ... and my equipment and SWG hasn’t ever been turned on yet. My TF-100 test kit, liquid chlorine, and Warrior SE has kept everything perfect through the winter. 
WHAT? I really did not think it would get "fixed" that good! I am so happy for you and the PB..........now here is hoping he/his crew learns a lesson so others don't have to go through the worry like you did.
Looks fantastic! I did not think it would look so much better so quickly.

My PB is coming on Monday to get all of my equipment up snd running. Should I add my salt beforehand? I’ve read on here to add it in the shallow end and work it around with the brush. I only got the Taylor salt strips when I ordered my TF-100 test kit.
The salt needs to be in and pump running to mix it up good for about 24 hours so yes add your salt. Is it warm enough to jump in? If so this is such a fun neat day. When the salt floats down they look like diamonds so we call salt day diamond day. People swimming and playing on diamond day also helps mix it in.

So is my target salt level around 3000 ppm? I can’t find a manual but this is the label on my AquaRite 900.
My concrete problem seems to have disappeared with the warmer weather and sunlight. Grass is filling in nicely too

Aim for the low end to start with as it is easier to add than to take out.
