Hi everybody it’s been a while since I posted on here. I have a Sundance Altamar probably 10 years old. A couple of weeks ago I changed the water, and I got a bit lazy and I allowed the pH to drift up and developed some scale. It is very embarrassing because in 10 years I’ve always had perfect water chemistry. I have well water, I had the PH and sanitizer in check but the alkalinity is high in the pH drifted up high and caught me off guard. Scale is significant but I would not say severe, I could just notice it on the shell when I was sitting on it, I felt a bit abrasive. Anyway everything was working when I drained it but after I filled it and turn it on I had a FLO2 error, and I could not get anything to work except for the lights. after about 10 minutes, I had taken the front panel off and just looking around and soon the circulating pumps just turned on. The flo switch looks clean it is in the right upright position. Now the error is simply FLO (no longer FLO2) and the pumps all work, but the heater will not kick on. I replaced the filter with a new one probably a month ago, so the filters are nice and clean. I get the same message even with the filters removed.
Couple of things might be worth noting, I did dump 1 gallon of white vinegar in the hot tub and circulated it for about 30 minutes before I drained it, thinking that might help loosen up any scale. And then as it was draining, I had a sprayer with vinegar and water mixed that I sprayed on the sides and scrubbed it has it drained. After it was drained I took a shop vac and sucked it up bone dry. Then I rinsed it off really good with water and sucked it up on dry again, then I filled it. Now I have the error as described. Started as FLO2 and no pumps would run, now Just FLO and the heater will not kick in. It is circulating like it would like to try to heat the water though.
any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
