Hello! Am a newbie when it comes to IG pool equipment. We had a bad storm yesterday in Jersey and my pool is about to overflow, more rain coming today. Am in the middle of construction and still have lots of dirt. This is what my system looks like. Do i have to trun off to let the water put?? Please someone help, I really appreciate it!!

You can easily get rid of water by vacuuming to WASTE. Sounds like a good time to vacuum-up some of that crud off the floor. WASTE basically bybasses the filter and that junk goes straight onto the grass or wherever your waste hose/line goes to.

What he said. Shut off pump, turn knob to "waste," turn pump back on, watch where the discharge ends up. If a bunch of dirt has already washed into the pool, vacuum it up while on waste setting. If not, just let it empty. We can't see the rest of the pump intake plumbing, so no way to tell if you can isolate the main drain or not. That will be the pipe disappearing off the bottom of the picture. It may or may not have a three-way valve. If you can't isolate it then you'll only be able to drain to the lower 1/4 of the skimmer.
