Hey yall. Finally got my 24x52 steel sided pool up and new liner installed, water filled, filter going. Everything is great and thank you for your help. My issue now is the ground is clay that was like concrete to get level ( rented a back hoe and laser level And toom a long time ) ... now completely around the pool is almost like a trench, And with the Storms today there is water puddling up completely around the Pool ( which I dont like at all). It isnt draining away really ( because the ground is so freaking level now and has no slope) I am thinking and is pooling down And standing into this little Approx 1 foot area ... Like a moat. Literally covering the bottom track and girst couple inches of the steel walls. Grrr. . I have been researching on here and was thinking french drain but also read on here thats not efficient for clay.... any ideas? I can post pics in the morning. Just eager to get to the store In the am to get whatever I need and get it haNdled STAT.

That is a very common problem that has multiple solutions depend ing on setup and your terrain. Before purchasing anything I would post some pictures and get some suggestions from others that have had the exact same problem. The best solution is to get the water into a pipe and drain it to a lower area in the yard. Try to include any lower areas around the pool that can be used to drain the water to in your pictures.

French drain will work in clay. I live in GA and have several french drains in my yard. In clay, the water isn't going to seep back into the ground, so you move it to a lower part of your yard where the water won't be a problem, or, in my case, into a pit where a sump pump pushes it through a pipe out to the storm drain in front of my house. My yard is really flat so that's the only way I can get water off of it. When I install my permanent pool, I will have a french drain going around it , sloping slightly and running to my sump pit. In your case and not knowing what your yard looks like, if you have a lower level in your yard you can direct the water to, then that's what I'd do. Good luck.

Thank you guys. I shall now start research on french drains. I have attached Some pictures of the terrain, pool, etc. hopefully yall can see originally it was a gentle slope from the house being at the top and draining down into the woods and road , but alas this whole “ level
Your pool” lol. Any suggestions appreciated even the Smallest suggestion helps... I am not the most technically savvy initially but will get it done and right eventually with reaearch and advice from the experts . Thanks in advance
