New Plaster discoloration

Our pool was plastered a month ago. The pool builder is still needing to finalize everything and has not handed the keys over to the pool yet. We had noticed some areas in the shallow end that were discolored. He came today and poured acid through a pipe directly on the pool floor. It now looks worse than it did before and the dark spots seem to show more now. Any suggestions/help? This is a nightmare!

No, like I mentioned, we haven’t been taught how to do anything yet. He has been handling the chemicals. We just connected and started the SWCG maybe a week ago. Salt level is around 3,000. I dipped a test strip that he had left at the house a few days ago and from what I remember, the 2 abnormal levels were pH which was a bright pink and free chlorine which was around the 0.5 (low) I believe. Sorry I’m not more help.

Yes, for the first month I brushed the pool 2-3 times a day. Been doing it about once a day over the last week. Ok I just found more of the strips.
Total hardness-250
Total chlorine- around maybe 1
Free chlorine- 0.5 low
PH- appears to read out very low
Total alkalinity- 40-low
Cyanuric acid- low

It sounds like that slug of acid dropped the pH, however I don't put a lot of faith in test strips. I understand that in order to keep your waranty you will have to follow their start up instructions for the time being. Make sure you document everything and if they want pool store testing for a certain period of time then go ahead and take a sample for them to test, but for day to day pool management you will want your own FAS/DPD test kit.
As for your current problem, let them know their solution didn't help and find out what they intend to do about it. They will probably want to do an acid wash to even out the pool color. Is this a colored plaster or is it a pebble type finish?
