Hi Everyone,

I’m from Saint Cloud, FL. Our pool is almost complete, waiting on enclosure and pool interior. I’ve been searching a lot on everything regarding having a pool and finally found this site. Looks like it has a ton of great info. This will be our first pool, small one. It’s a rectangular Gunite pool, 9.3'' X 29'. 270 SF Geometric Pool (3.5'-5' deep) sun shelf with LED bubbler and two additional LED lights.

Welcome,

Consider yourself lucky you found TFP now. I screwed up two pools before I got here. No reason to rely on the pool stores or pool maintenance services to take care of your pool. Order up a good test before the pool is finished. The TF-100 is the best value (link in my sig). A Speedstir will make testing more easier, more accurate, and more consistent.

Best wishes.

what are good equipment for cleaning the pool.
Are you referring to a pool once it's filled with water? If so, most plaster pool owners will have a good brush (probably steel or 50/50),along with something to vacuum the pool with. If not electrical or water powered, then at least a manual vacuum that you connect via a hose ot the skimmer. You should also have a net to scoop things out of the water or from the surface.

Are there any brands that I should stay away from or that are really good?
Trial and error really. I got my last pole from a company called Gorilla. They may brushes and stuff too. Seemed sturdy and all, but these things only last so long regardless. I also got a Whale Brush that is pretty nice. A manual vacuum head and hose is fairly standard and should last for a while if kept out of the sun. If you do a search for poles, brushes, etc, you'll lots of discussions.
