Hi, I’m new to owning a pool. We just bought a house with a pool and have the pool pump (Zodiac LM3) set on a timer only that when I turns on in the morning it say no flo and won’t produce chlorine. If i reset the system it will work again and I have to re in put the timer settings then when it turns off at night and turns back on in the morning it does it again... What should I be looking at?

Thank you

Moldy, welcome to TFP.

I know the pool and equipment is new to you. I have a few questions and need to understand better what you have.

You said "the pool pump (Zodiac LM3) set on a timer ". The LM3 is a Salt Water chlorine Generator, not a pool pump. I'd like to understand what pool pump you have and what timer you have. If you don't know then post pics of what you have.

When you say you "reset the system" where and how are you doing that?

Where do you "reinput the timer settings"?

What type of pool do you have?

Please create your signature with details of your pool so we can give you more specific advice.

Hi, thanks!

Sorry it’s not the pool pump I’m having problems with a it’s the Chlorinator.

There is a timer setting in the LM3 controller. It works fine, it turns on and off to the set times but when it switches off at the programmed time then comes back on again it says no flow and won’t produce chlorine. It says this even though the pump is moving water through the filter and chlorinator. There is a reset button on the controller which when you press and it resets the controller and it seems to work fine making chlorine after that but the timer program resets.

We have a 40,000L in ground fiberglass pool.

You have the Australian version of the LM3 with a timeswitch that is not sold in the US. This looks like your manual - https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/zodiac-au/LM3_New_Owners_Manual_WW000074.pdf

If your pool pump is wired to the LM3 time switch then the pump and the chlorinator should both turn on at the same time. We need to understand how your pump is wired and controlled. Here is the installation manual - https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/zodiac-au/LM3_New_Installation_manual_.pdf See step 7 where it describes where the pump should be plugged in.

The manual mentions a "Chlorine Output light" is this ON during the fault condition? Is the "No flow"light ON during the fault condition?
How old is the salt cell? It could be that the Cell has problems detecting the flow at times or the Chlorinator circuitry is not picking up the flow input. If you disconnect the Cell do you get the same fault?
