Going through our PB quote, its listing a "Dedicated vacuum line w/ safety lock "line-only" (located midway in pool)".
This is going to be our first pool, so not really sure if we can just get away from having it and replace it with a robot, does a robot need a vacuum line or does it operate on its own? Or can I plug into a skimmer?

Thanks

I have a dedicated vacuum line, which I used with my manual vacuum head attachment with an in-line leaf catcher. It was helpful to have this since my two skimmers shared a line, so using one of the skimmer lines wouldn't have enough suction. I now have a robot, so I don't use the vacuum line much anymore. It can't hurt to have one, but it isn't necessary if you have a robot like a Dolphin Discovery or Maytronics S20. If your robot breaks, it might be nice to have a vac line as a backup method.
