Hayward OmniLogic and networked ColorLogic Lighting, is finally here

Have you heard anything about a release date? I can’t seem to find anything online or Hayward’s website about “omnidirect mode.” I’m a few weeks away from purchasing all the equipment for my pool build, including colorlogic lights and omnilogic automation. I’m very interested in the omnidirect mode lighting control.

I haven't heard anything else. Like you I couldn't really find anything else about it. I actually had heard the marketing buzzword "OmniDirect" from a Hayward employee, and went-a-searching for more information about it, and this is all I found.

I'm not sure yet if there will be a separate hardware module for the OmniLogic controller (like with the ProLogic), or if it will be all in-software. Also not sure if the 'networked' versions of the ColorLogic lights will be required (As was advised by Hayward a few years ago), or if the stand alone versions will be fine with OmniDirect.
 
The need for "networked" lights is going away with the newest generation of lights. This isn't as much an upgrade of the Omni system as it is with the LED Lights. With the new lights and up to date Omni software, you can change the brightness of your light, modify color shows and the "switching" will go away. The timeline is probably mid-year.

any updates on this? I can't really find any good info. I have latest firmware installed and curious if anyone has enabled existing ColorLogic to be omniDirect. I went into setup and it asked to test for omnidirect but my lights are on the relay bank and the requirement is to be on Main Relay not the relaybanks.. I don't want to move and reconfigure to test quite yet.

I have my lights on the Main relay on my OmniLogic. I updated the firmware but nothing indicates/shows that I have the option for more colors/shows. I heard that you have to have the current generation of lights in order for it to work, but I still don't see any changes in the options on the panel or on the Omni app I use.
 
You need the new lights AND the latest Omni software. Then there's an option when choosing which light, during configuration, to pick the Omni Direct lights. Or, if you already have your "UCL 14V" lights properly set up, you can edit config and get to the light info, there should be an option you can choose in this menu for the Omni Direct. This will give you "another menu" in the lights section where you have a bar to adjust brightness. You can also adjust the speed of the light shows.

Just for full disclosure, I haven't got a chance to fully configure and try the new light setup. We just installed an Omni with the new lights, but aren't to the point where we've fully programmed everything. I plan on fully setting up this system next week. If you go through the setup and still have issues/questions, let me know and I'll check back here after I set things up.
