4 Day Vacation = Algae

pH won't be accurate when FC is 10 or higher - can you wait just a few hours, let the sun burn off just a bit of the chlorine so it's below 10, retest pH, and adjust that first? 7.2 is a good goal for the SLAM as the natural rise in pH won't put it too high during the SLAM (when you won't be able to test for pH due to elevated FC levels).

ya isn’t at 70 which is the min for swg pool. So I need to raise ?
Not until the pool is in normal maintenance using the SWCG to add your chlorine. The saltwater does not matter, it is the use of the SWCG to add chlorine that is improved by having a higher CYA.

Pool looks muuuch better today. All green is gone via the shock powder assuming but still a touch cloudy. Keep going with slam and check fc tomorrow right ?

I really need to backwash do it now and then add bleach ?

Keep with SLAM until the pool is crystal clear, no visible algae, and you don't lose more than 1ppm overnight (testing after sundown and then before sunup the next morning). Hopefull you'll get it done with quickly, though going from cloudy to clear can take a long time depending on how well filters are doing their job.

Backwash as needed. The amount you'll lose backwashing is pretty minimal compared to how many gallons are in your pool. Add the bleach at a return jet in the pool. Pour in slowly (pencil-size stream of liquid) and make sure you're wearing old clothing as if any splashes on your clothes it will stain.

Filter should be going constantly during SLAM once the pool is blue and cloudy to help filter out the crud. Check filter often too and clean/backwash when pressure raises 25% from clean pressure. To SLAM you add to the SLAM level, then check FC as often as able, three times a day at least if possible (no more than once per hour) and add enough to get back to that SLAM level after testing. Read this: SLAM - Shock Level and Maintain - Trouble Free Pool It explains in detail.

If you’re doing the overnight test, you want to take a reading after the sun has set tonight and then tomorrow morning before the sun is up. The point is to see if anything is going to be reducing chlorine except the sun.

Just a heads up though – typically it takes at least a few days to really get rid of everything bad in the system. You said your water is clear. Are you still seeing any algae at all?

You can can do an OCLT if you like (in fact, you should kind of be doing one anyway, since the last test/adjust should be later in the evening and then another test/adjust first thing in the morning) but with a cloudy deep end I don't think you will keep all of your chlorine overnight. OCLT is more of a "Hey, the water is crystal clear to the bottom, wonder if I'm done yet" kind of thing.

Don't lose heart though, since this isn't a swamp, it shouldn't take that that long to complete. On the order of days, not weeks.

The water is looking MUCH better. Algae has been brushed/vacuum and the cloudiness is nearly gone as of a few hours after the bleach was added. 3 jugs of the 6% bleach changed the FC from 10.5 to 16PPM exactly as PoolMath calculator indicated. Will follow up in the morning.

Keep the SLAM levels until the entire pool is so clear you can barely tell there's water in it, no algae is showing, and you don't lose any between sunset and sunrise. :)

16PPM FC was last night around 7:30PM EST with light but no direct sunshine.
14PPM FC this morning around 7:15AM EST with light but no direct sunshine.

Water is crystal clear -- perfect. 2PPM drop off though means I re-check FC tonight and re-add bleach, correct?110260
