I'm slightly familiar with pumps and sand filters, but in connection to AGP.
This IGP has the same, but the plumbing is so different it's a bit confusing.

Pictures of my setup.

Questions:
The backwash pipe just juts out there at the bottom. It can't be used that way, I expected it to plump into the overflow (is that not done?).
So, as is, I need to clamp a hose on it and route it elsewhere?

The equipment should have been on poured concrete imo, we poured a ton and a few more feet would not have mattered. As is, one pad seems to be concrete, the other might be fiberglass and the heat pump hangs over a few inches. ??‍♀️

The sidewalk in front of all this is about a foot away, so it's a stretch to get to the pad, just a pain. We'll fill it in with rock I guess. I was told we can't put concrete around the pads since the materials are different.

Any suggestions on that?

What about dampening the sound/ blocking the view? In the schematic, it wasn't so close to the pool. Now with the way they set it up, putting a wall or fence around all of it doesn't allow room to work on anything.

Also, from reading I've decided this valve plumbed by the pump determines if the floor drain(s) or skimmer (or both) are drawing. Is that correct?

Any idea what this clamp is on the pipe going to the filter?

Is there a way to turn the top on the filter so the sight bubble and pressure gauge aren't at the back? It's very hard to see and I thought it was missing for a few days until I climbed up there and hugged the filter.

And plumbing...

On the schematic there is a round cover shown beside the skimmer clean out. In the pool, there was PVC plumbed there.

After losing several inches of water, the PB came and took the return jet off that plumbing because I complained it wasn't working and there was water on the other side of the sidewalk from it. He basically put a plug in it, possibly glued it in.

What was that supposed to be?

The pipe/plug at the bottom of the sand filter is a drain outlet, just in case you ever need to drain it. The backwash outlet comes of the multi port at the top. At the multi port on the top of the sand filter there is one inlet (from the pump) and two outlets. One outlet is the return to the heater and finally the pool and the other is the backwash to waste.

More concrete would be nice maybe but also an absolute pain if you want to make changes. I would lay weed mat and top with gravel stones. I cant really see it but I have some aircon units that sit on plastic pads.

The clamp is holding it a probe which looks to be connected in your control box, temp maybe.

I’m fairly certain that the valve in front of you pump lets you select between the skimmer and main drain.

It looks like you have a tab feeder, if it were my pool I would be installing a SWG.

I think that cover with plumbing beside the skimmer may be an auto drain. If it is it should just drain down to your max water level.

The auto drain is over by the steps and is in mid tile level. The plumbing by the skimmer is way below the skimmer so it would kill my pump as an auto drain. ??‍♀️ Still a mystery.

Thanks on the filter drain. That open PVC near it is plumbed to backwash. It's right at the edge of the concrete, so it won't go over it...need to put a hose on it. ??‍♀️

Ah, the temp probe. That makes sense.

Yes, it's a tab feeder that is completely useless. We are brand new and SWG is supposed to start in the next two weeks. Idk why it wasn't already put in, I know why we wait to start it. But looks like they need to redo something.
