Hey everyone, I've been stalking TFP for over a year now and I think we're finally ready to take the plunge. I'm pretty set on FG and we found a PB that installs Viking. We were originally going to go with the Coronado or the Cancun models but the pool at our gym has a large bench in the shallow end that our kids love and my wife enjoy sitting. No we are thinking the Viking Fiji (Trilology Calypso is the same model). I am curious if anyone has any experience with either of these models. How is the Baja/tanning/sun shelf? Is it useful or a waste of pool space? Thanks everyone! Hope to have a build thread on here in a few months.

Welcome! Well, we don't have either of those models. We have the Poseidon (see link in my signature). It has a bench that goes along the entire 40ft length of the pool excluding the center portion that is in-set. We like the bench feature very much. It also has a toe ledge on the opposite side of the pool for those who just want to rest and step along parts of the pool. I believe the Triton was the smaller version of our pool.

Bumping this up for you. We don't have fiberglass, but I have to say that a bench/swimout in the deep end has been a game changer for us! I'd never been in a pool with a deep end bench until our own pool, and people use the deep end now SO much more. I thought the little deep end benches seemed like a good idea, but I had no idea how much grownups and kids would use them. I really recommend it!

Lucanjo,
Unfortunately I don't have any input but the Trilogy Calypso and the Viking Cancun are the same shapes that have us torn. We love the design of the Calypso/Fiji but we are afraid it is too small. Definitely curious about anyone's actual experience with either shape.
