Skimmer Swap - gunite repair

New build. PB has been great so far, but unfortunately they put in the wrong skimmer. They acknowledged, and are fixing it without complaint... unfortunately the original skimmer had already been gunited into place. They just jackhammered out, and replaced with the venturi skimmer that was originally spec'd, and have concreted in the new skimmer.

They made several U bends of rebar around the new skimmer and tied it into the gunite shell (there was some rebar that was left from the old skimmer that they were able to tie to). I'm not too worried about this piece... My question is about the hole beneath the skimmer that has the new venturi return. Is there anything I should look for during their repair/patch on this spot?

They used high strength Quickrete around the new skimmer, and it comes part way into hole the gunite wall (I saw 2 vertical pieces of rebar in the shell that got covered by it). They also mentioned using hydraulic cement to fill in the rest from the front. This sounds good to me, but admittedly I know almost nothing about this stuff, so I figured I'd throw it out to the community to see if there were any concerns, or things I should be asking? I just want to make sure we don't run into issues years down the road.

Thanks so much!

Looks like they did ok but you would have been much better off just leaving the original in place.

It's impossible to know the quality of a repair after the concrete has been placed though.
Good to know for next time (or next person who sees this ahead of time). :)

Any tips for what to watch for with the situation now?

Not sure if it helps, but here are a couple of pics during the swap (hard to get pics of every step as I didn't want to get in their way). After the last picture they did the U shaped rebar around the back.
