Suction port at side of pool
Pump on high

I’m new at this so I’m not sure how to set my valves. Pool is 22 days since fill.

I thought I probably need to adjust valve at skimmer and main drain lines. I tried a few combinations of partially shut valves on those two lines but nothing got me to 11rpm’s

3b,

In your pic your skimmer is shut off and the main drain is wide open.. Neither of these two pipe have anything to do with a "suction port on the side of the pool"

We need to see a couple of pics from further back..

Thanks,

Jim R.

This better?

I see a line called cleaner but it has no valve, always at 100%?

TIA Jim.

I would get together with the builder or one of there service personnel to go through everything. At least one of the skimmers and maybe both are controlled by venturi. If so by slowly shutting the main drain it will produce more suction on the vac line. What rpm are you running when you tried adjusting yourself. In many cases people will shutoff the main drain, since a suction cleaner is basically a moving main drain

Quickskim manual is here to see how it works —> http://www.aamfg.com/manuals/installation/QuikSkim_Install_Instructions.pdf

Quickskim venturi skimmer uses return water to create the skimming action. The suction line is optional and is not needed for the skimmer to work.

That means the suction line valve can be closed for normal operation and suction comes from the main drain. With the skimmer valve closed the main drain valve controls the amount of suction between the main drain and the cleaner line.

I believe the cleaner line has no valve to protect the system if both the skimmer and main drain valves were closed. All suction would come from the cleaner line.

I think I get it.

So close the main drain line some and leave skimmer closed and more suction will be concentrated at the cleaner line, this amping up the rpm’s. (Venturi return keeps the skimmer working)

Sound right?

Supposed to work that way. If it doesn’t you need to get your PB to figure out what is wrong.

If you have skimmer problems this thread may help.
