hey guys. finally got my hot tub. been looking for almost a year for the perfect one. it's a smaller inflatable tub but like i say to all my friends, it's all about the water not the device that holds it! of course like my pools i use the tfp method and of course the water is beautiful. was wondering what temp you guys keep your spa at. my commercial pool i couldn't go over 39 celsius cause of regulations but my home spa i like to have it at 106f. sorry about the switch from c to f. enjoy your saturday everyone!

cat,

I run mine at 95 degrees F, about 10 hours a day when not in use... It automatically ramps up to 104 F for the other 2 hours when we normally use it.

Of course that is what the display reads.. I only "assume" it is correct... :)

Thanks,

Jim R.

From https://www.cpsc.gov/content/cpsc-warns-of-hot-tub-temperatures

Soaking in a hot tub with water heated to 106 degrees Fahrenheit, for example, can raise human body temperature to the point of heat stroke (or impairment of the body's ability to regulate its internal temperature). These conditions can be fatal even to fully healthy adults.

We find it's nice to warm the spa up to 92 or so then slowly raise the temp to 98 (automation is fantastic). Then we put the bubbler on which cools it. The we heat and enjoy 'till we get too wrinkled or too hot. Don't think we've ever gone over 100.

thanks for the replies guys! i have a good quality thermometer i float in the tub since i was wanting to be as precise at controlling my temperature. the tub actually reads 108 but it's actually 106. we use ours for minimal time but i like to multiple times a day. im still getting pretty quick ph creep but my fill ta in this season is 140 so to high. my commercial tub loved 40 ta but its a tiled spa with epoxy grout. this little guy is vinyl. 40-60 ta with my pools and tubs seem to be normal.

How many gallons, or liters to fill your tub? My tubs controls top out at 104f (actual water temp is 102f) but then the display continues up to UT1 UT2 and I think UT3. I was told it stands for Upper Temp 1, 2 and 3 and is due to regulations on tub temp controls. This tub is about 10 years old. We like it at UT1 or 103f.
You should add your tub to your signature now.

What thermometer are you using?

i forget the brand but it's a little floater one i got at my pool store. i always got the cheaper ones but they had non stainless parts in them and corroded in a few months. this one was more money but works great. i tested this thermometer with my multimeter. I'll try to get a name off of it.
