Hello! I'm new to this forum and admittedly clueless. I posted a picture of the stains I'm experiencing. My once crystal clear blue pool has these nasty marks after opening. Help!!!
Well, going to take some investigation to figure out what they are.
Do they brush off at all?
If you put some crushed up vitamin C on them for a few minutes do they lighten?
If you put a tirchlor tablet on them for a few minutes do they lighten?
Thank you for responding and the warm welcome :hockey: when I brush nothing comes off. I haven't tried those tablets yet or the vitamin c. Just learned about those from this forum I will have to give that a try. The placements of these stains are very strange. Typically that's where the leaves rest. There's also a few spots on the side of the pool too. I did have elevated copper as the stairs were brownish but added some metal remover and it cleared right up. Ph is currently 7.8 and FC is 2. I have a saltwater system that is going on 4 years old.
Wanted to update. I tried the chlorine tablets and they worked. Lifted the stains right up on the test areas. I have my new test kit coming early next week (TF 100 and speed stirrer). After testing I'll up my FC to whatever % is needed based on CYA results. Do I need anything else? (Besides constant brushing). I'm still confused on liquid chlorine vs household bleach. You really put bleach in the pool? Why does that scare me (unlike the pool store stuff I didn't think twice about)?
