What to do when your Skimmer Basket Floats out when pump is off

check your old windshield wipers or find some stainless spring steel narrow enough to weave in and out the basket holes. place skimmer basket in skimmer with spring steel opposite of the weir door if accessing basket from the top, or place the spring steel at the back of the skimmer box if accessing from the weir door. You'll have to trim stainless spring steel so that with the skimmer lid on, the steel arches and the upper tip lands slightly forward of center of the skimmer cap pointing at the weir door. make a loop so that if someone sticks their hand in the skimmer they dont get cut, I tried it on a couple pools for friends as well as my own and I haven't had the skimmer basket pop up again. I like it because no risk of rock falling into the system, doesn't disturb the flow of the skimmer, I don't have to dig through hair and bugs to save my rock before cleaning the basket over the side of my above ground pool, or chasing after my favorite rock that I just threw over the railing of my pool. Not for everyone but maybe for the few as bizarre as I am. It will not block the weir door.
