So the painters tape represents the inside dimentions of my equipment shed to be built. I cannot make it bigger.

9' wide by 5' deep.

I want to leave as much room around the heater as possible for maintaince but as you see, there is not much to work with. Everything will have unions on it so I may have to pull stuff out to get at it.

I am putting large doors on front. about 7' wide so when they are open the front will be almost completely unobstructed.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

u,

Notice the drain plug in the bottom of the filter?/... You will need to be able to get to it.... I have to be a human pretzel to get to mine... :p

I would put the pump in the middle and the filter on the right.. It makes some connections longer, but I see that as an advantage when it comes time to make futures repairs

Remember, when your drain or open your filter, the water has to go somewhere...

And I'm sure you know that the heater will have to be vented outside..

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.

Thanks Jim.

I have a vent kit ordered. I will also have air intake grills on the shed. The filter will have a ball valve and a piece of hose leading into the drain I am going to install in the floor. That will be easy peasy.
I gotta put some thought into moving the pump location. I kinda wanted that filter centered to line up with the drain.

FYI. I am running 3" conduit into the slab for my water lines. the lines will then be fed thru for easy future work. Also, a 1" conduit for my lighting and bonding cable.

U,

Makes sense on the drain... and filter position...

I am never a fan of bringing plumbing though concrete... I like having the ability to dig down and replace "stuff", which I have had to do a couple of times on rent houses..

But.. you can only do what you have room to do...

I like the ball valve filter drain idea.. I think of it twice a year when I clean my filter.. :p And then I become lazy again...

Thanks,

Jim R.

My filter is about 5 inches from the backwall of the shed I built. I cut a small hole in the back and used a small piece of hose I bought at Walmart, think it was called a kink saver or something. It's got a coil of metal wire around it so it doesn't bend. Added a metal hose valve on the end, so all I have to do is attach a hose to the valve out the backside of the shed and turn the little valve and it drains through the hose. Also great if I need to lower my water level in anticipation of a big rain.
