We pulled the trigger and bought a Radiant Metric 16*32 oval.
I plan on documenting the entire project here as there isn't a lot of real detail online regarding these pools.
There are a few posts of these installs on this site that are very helpful, but most are of the round metric pools and some details that I was searching for were not available.
I plan on sinking the pool down about 2 feet and build a stone patio around it.

This is the yard last year

Thanks! That yard was a few years ago when the lawn was looking real good.
I do have a question about the stairs to wall mounting.

I leveled the stairs based on the top rim around the steps. The problem I am running into is that the sides where I bolted the wall mounts to is leaning forward about an inch into the pool area. This is causing my level walls not to align.

I see 3 options, please give me your thoughts on the best practice.

1. Remove some sand from the back legs of the steps so they unit will be tilted back about an inch, but the mounts will align to the level walls.
2. Adjust the wall mounts on the stairs so they are level with the wall. If I do this the wall mounts will set back about an inch from the face of the steps at the top, while still flush at the bottom.
3. A little of each. Drop the back of the steps 1/2" and tilt the wall mounts back 1/2".

If you need pics I can provide.

Thanks

Well, I went with option 1. The stairs are slightly tilted back. I found a couple pictures and a video online that showed the seam connector almost flush with the front of the stair flange. The diagram in the manual also shows this.

All walls are up with the exception of the one corner where we will truck the sand in.

Sure wish I could add some pics.

jpelizza,

Yes, I will be putting a full collar around the pool. I plan to have the pool about 52" deep except within 12" from the wall, there will be a quick 3" drop. That means I cannot use the wall ties, so a collar is a must.

Here are a couple of pics. This is just prior to mounting the stairs.
Now I am waiting for the rain to stop so I can bring in the 4 yards of masonry sand.
