New Radiant Metric 16*32 oval installation

We are at about 3 feet right now. I let the kids jump in for a few minutes to cool off, naturally they left the toys in.

I have to say, the Pentair intelliflow VF pump rocks. 13000 gallons, 1 turnover, 12 hours = 18 GPM and 125 watts. And you can barely hear it. My old Intex pump was 275 watts for a 5000 gallon pool.

Poured the apron that the coping will be cemented to, Getting the stone to grade. Laying out coping. Need to get a good tile cutter to shave off that 3/4" gap on the outer edge around the corners.

Covering the poo tank with Silica Systems grids.

Getting there.

Our 16x32 oval radiant arrived today and we got the walk in steps as well, we haven't started digging or doing any prep work yet.
We were looking at concrete costs, did you mix and do the concrete yourself? If so, did you buy it by the bag? How many did you use? We priced a cement truck coming but my husband is pretty dead set on mixing into himself.
Any advice before we get started, ours is going in the ground too?

I was dead set on mixing and pouring myself too. The truth is you can't do it by hand fast enough. There will be cold joints in the concrete which are weak spots. Including the steps we had 6-7 yards delivered.

I am all about doing everything myself. I cleared the trees, graded the yard, irrigation, built the deck, built the gazebo, dug the pool hole, assembled the pool, did the wiring, piping, filter, pump, wall, stone, etc. The ONE thing I am glad I did NOT do was the cement around the base and stairs. Mixing and pouring the apron around the top for the coping to sit on was bad enough.

This is a very long and physical project. Do yourself one favor and just let the truck come in and pour the cement. It cost me $1500, but it was so worth it.

Maybe you should start your own build thread so others can comment and help if there are any questions.
Have you dug the hole yet? Do you have a rotary laser level?
