    Century (Regal) VGreen motor automation

I've finally got my Node-Red implementation in a place where I'm happy with it. I'm using a Waveshare Dual RS485+PoE TCP server, but you could just as easily use a Raspberry Pi with it. You should be able to import the raw JSON contained in the attached file. I specifically wrote it to not...

    Century (Regal) VGreen motor automation

Would you mind uploading your node red code? I'm not able to get the other example to work properly on my setup, for reasons unknown.

    Century (Regal) VGreen motor automation

I've been able to use some of the Modbus and Jandy commands with my EVO225, but it doesn't seem to respond at all to Pentair or Hayward commands. I'm trying to get it to interface with nodejs-poolcontroller. But I fear I may have to abandon that and run in a different direction.

    V Green EVO replacement motor?

@Jsherman If you do go for the VGreen Evo, confirm that you get one that supports automation. They were sold for a while with that part of their firmware not working and a dead RS-485 port. I've not been able to extract any more information from the company that doesn't have any support...

Century Connect Automation Support for VGreen EVO

Following this for when the board comes available. My last communication with a tech down in FL was installing them for high profile customers back in May. He's since gone radio silent. I was just about to pull the board off and see about intercepting the motor commands to spin my own board...

Looking for Custom Program Options for Century Vgreen Evo Motor

The RS485 port is dead. There is no software on the onboard microcontroller to interpret signals from it. I'm working on reverse engineering the PCB now to get a bead on what exactly stands in our way.

    Vgreen EVO

There is no RS485 control on these motors. Despite the port, it looks like they never implemented the software to actually pass the control information along. Supposedly there is an updated board coming out, but I haven't heard anything one way or another. I've got some fairly high...

Replace pump, or just the motor?

I've got a robot, but use a sand filter and a salt cell. So longer run times help me out by not burning out the salt cell. I've also done the 5 year math, and using my current run times to keep the pool clean, the motor breaks even in about 8 months, and the full pump in about a year and a half...

Replace pump, or just the motor?

I've got a 1.5HP Hayward single speed pump. It works just fine, but being a single speed pump, it consumes quite a bit of power. I've been looking at replacing the pump in its entirety, but have recently come across the A.O. Smith/Centurion/??? V-Green motors. I know they'll bolt right up to...

    New Booster Pump

I.E what to do with the dedicated return for the booster. I don't actually have a close outlet, so that would be an issue for me. The whole take it out of the pool and put it back in is what I mean by attention. My 280 is in the pool year round and has done a fine job of keeping it clean. I...

    New Booster Pump

That Boost-Rite looks pretty good. Found it for ~$60 more than the direct LA01N replacement. 40% power reduction seems to be a break even for me at 4.5 months given my existing runtime and electrical costs.

    New Booster Pump

That would involve plumbing, electrical, and additional attention that I can't afford to part with. Plus its far more expensive.

    New Booster Pump

My Pentair LA01N finally died completely. I replaced the capacitor and it just doesn't seem to want to turn on anymore. Just makes a loud angry buzzing. I suspect a melted winding somewhere. Since I've got to replace it, should I replace like in kind, or should I seek out something potentially...

    Pump Replacement

Well then that's happening in the next week. Because this manual switch nonsense has to stop.

    Pump Replacement

I'll definitely say the water is cold right now. Its the middle of winter here in the foothills (NW GA). I know I need to do some adjustment on it, I just haven't had the chance. Maybe this spring I can get it going. Ultimately, its not about the 280 vs 360, its about reducing power usage...
