    Sequestering agents

Sequestrants act to "hide" the metals (copper, iron, etc) in solution and requires routine doses, but all that copper is still there. Its best to just remove the copper laden water and refill with fresh water.

    SLAMing and not holding chlorine

Powdered products for chlorine add additional CYA or calcium to your pool alsong with the chlorine. I would perform a complete panel of tests again if you havent yet, just to make sure you are using the latest values for each level (particularly CYA, Calcium) Liquid chlorine is always preferable.

Is this mold? Never seen this before

So. what chemicals has the pool store sold you lately? Here at TFP we use very few products from pool stores actually. We also do our own testing because pool store tests are often wrong, but they do sell a lot of chemicals, eh? Maddie :flower:

Salt cell not creating robust FC

What I would do is use liquid chlorine to take your FC up to the desired level based on your CYA level, then turn the SWG on and allow it to maintain the desired level. The reason to do it this way is because SWGs work slowly, but steadily. It takes time to build up to that desired level when...

Will this clear up with SLAM

How high is your CYA? That's the first issue to determine. I suspect a good daily brushing while doing the SLAM process will work well for you. Take a picture in the same spot daily and post it here. Sometimes its easier to see improvement with pictures for comparison.

    SLAM or continue....

Just an FYI: One gallon of 10% LC will take your 29k pool up by 5ppm. With CYA of 90, its gonna take a LOT of extra LC jugs hauled home to do a SLAM process. Madddie :flower:

Recoat SWG salt cell to restore aged cell?

Hi Joe, good morning. Sadly I doubt most folks would have access to the type of metal used on cells (it starts with an R but Ive forgotten the name). There is always a first Einstein so if you figure it out please share the deets. One improvement I can help you with though is to NOT use...

    Chlorine level with auto cover

Yup, if your pool isn't getting sun because its covered yet with the SWG is still running day in and day out FC CAN build up more than you want. My SWG is generously oversized (as we recommend) so I run my SWG on a very low setting which still provides enough FC but not too much. I also open...
