What is the best way to monitor my system?

I am really new at this therefore I feel I need to get some specific number of my installation. I would like to be able to tell how long will be a cycle of filtering so I can optimize the time the pump would be in service. also and having ways to trouble shoot a little bit more precisely than...

Relationship between HP head loss and GPM?

Unfortunately, I have never seen the pool running and I don’t know it history. I have bough a pool with black water, a broken pump and zero knowledge. Based on what you have found out and the few I know, it sounds the previous owner had a super pump but then replace the motor with a 3/4 HP SF...

What is the best way to monitor my system?

Hi, I understood now optimizing the pool system is somehow depending on multiple variable. one being wrong might compromise the whole installation. So I guess I really need to be able to monitor my installation. I understand there is a pressure meter that would be host by filter that can help...

Relationship between HP head loss and GPM?

For the housing, yes it does. The motor is different though. it is a 3/4HP A.O. Smith Corp. but gone. I got this number on the basket.

Relationship between HP head loss and GPM?

At the moment : Hayward SP1600 with a 3/4HP A.O. Smith Corp. But the motor is dead and the pump housing is in a bad shape. I am about to purchase a new one. I have been expanding the plumbing and the pump and filter will be now 20 feet (and four 90 dares elbow) farther. I am considering this...

Relationship between HP head loss and GPM?

Interesting point. 2 speed pump might be the way to go. Is that correct to say, I would have the lower speed for regular filtering process and higher speed if I need to use a cleaner of mix my chemical faster. My concern is the following : Is that okay to process the flux at a higher rate than...

Relationship between HP head loss and GPM?

Hi, I am trying to figure out the pump I should choose to replace mine. I have a above ground 19000 Gallons. I have calculated a 40 GPM. My sand filter can handle 50 GPM. My big question mark is about the heal loss of my installation. I have come up with a number that seems to be outranging ...

Also New owner of a old pool - above ground - Need to change pump

Thank you. my filter can handle up to 50 GPM and my calculation shows about 40 GPM for a cycle of 8 hours. I wouldn't mind if it is a bit longer though. The question mark at my end is more the impact of the plumbing.I am using this type of chart to figure it out. Length of 1 1/2 tube is below 80...

New owner old Pool. brown layer of dust(?) leaves (?) on the bottom of the pool

Hello, I am in the process of buying a new pump. As soon as I have installed it I will have to clean the pool. This pool has been most likely not used of 18 month. It has a thick (1/2 inch) layer of leaves and other debris on the bottom of the pool. I am considering filtering the water as I am...

Also New owner of a old pool - above ground - Need to change pump

Hi, I am just starting to investigate on how I could properly take care of the pool. I have conflicting information. It is a above ground 19000 Gallons with one skimmer 2 holes (one plugged). Two out take lines but only one is connected. (perhaps the other one is a spare one). Pump is 0.75 HP...
