    Light Niche Delete

Hi Everyone Do you have a suggestion on how to patch a hole in an inground steel pool wall? Background: Last season the pool light niche leaked water and was temporarily patched with marine silicon. Currently my pool liner is out and my pool light niche is inspected. I want the light...

    New pump, Your suggestions pls.

Thanks for the tip about pool turnover The slide I am referring to is a slide that people climb and then slide down into the pool. It has a connection to the pump. If there is enough pump pressure water will flow down the slide and make it more slippery :)

8 hrs needed to turn over 1x, but typically will run 12-14hrs per day.

    New pump, Your suggestions pls.

Hi everyone I want a new pump for these reasons: My pump is 17 years old, its noisy when running now, it doesn't start the first-time every-time, it will not pump water up 7ft to the slide unless filter has just had a fresh backwash is 20 psi) The current pump is a Sta-rite dyna-glass 3/4...

What are you thoughts on getting a higher rated heater vs recommended?

Lol exactly It seems that one way or the other isn't so much obviously better. Bigger heater is more convenient *after* you have paid the bill. Smaller heater will do the job. Thanks for the comments, appreciated.

What are you thoughts on getting a higher rated heater vs recommended?

*If I am using the spread sheet correctly .... A difference of 30degree F. will need 88000 BTU, (wind 3-4 miles/hour) to maintain heat. I am thinking that almost all of the time either heater would keep up. Does that sound right?

What are you thoughts on getting a higher rated heater vs recommended?

I do not have a heater now. I want a gas heater. My pool company is recommending a 250,000 BTU heater for my pool. I have used a pool heating spreadsheet to estimate that 250,000 BTU will raise my pool 10 degrees in about 7 hrs, and 4 degrees in 4 hrs. We use the pool on weekends mostly; the...

Harsco Sorelmix Filtering Media - Is this a good filter sand?

Hi While I had my sand filter apart, I decided to top-up the sand to make up for what I had wasted. My pool store sold me a "mineral replacement" They told me this was better than sand - because it would last longer, would filter down to 15 microns, it didn't have silica dust - it was...

Sand Filter - what to use for bonding sand filter base to sand filter body?

My two bonding tests (Lepage Pl premium construction adhesive and Dap sealant) failed so badly ..... no grip to the filter tank at all. I tried the filter tank just sitting on the pedestal with a tank of water and it was nearly stable enough to leave - but it was still easy to shift around. I...

Sand Filter - what to use for bonding sand filter base to sand filter body?

Great idea - my palm to my forehead. I was keyed into the fact that it was originally bonded. I have two adhesives currently curing so I can test the bond. After I test those bonds I will try out the $0.00 dollar solution. I will fill it with water and see how easily it shifts about on the...

Sand Filter - what to use for bonding sand filter base to sand filter body?

Hello! Help! tl;dr? What I can I use to bond the sand-filter-base to the sand-filter? I have a sta-rite t-200bp-1 sand filter. The problem was that the top of the sand filter was not level with the base of the filter. Looking at the sand filter I could see that the base is not centered to...

Chlorine level for IG pool in Canada

Re: Chlorine level for IG pool in Canada cya. Hardness.... This thread is jumping around a bit...... I useCal-hypo for shock every two weeks. I've never been able to go longer or else I will get Algae. Someone suggested it could drive up hardness so I commented on my experience. Trichlor...
