    Am I on track?

Just checking to see if the amount of chlorine I'm using is normal (35-40oz/evening), and if loosing 4ppm during high heat is normal. 18'x52" Intex above ground pool with the sand filter that I typically run 24/7 with the aerator. ~7,000 gal (6,981 according to Intex). First time pool owner...

    Most recommended test strips?

I got the Taylor K-2006 - but I like the idea of having a smaller test kit for FC and pH - thanks!

    Most recommended test strips?

I'm currently using the FAS-DPD test kit to get my water in balance - my plan is to have it to where I can use quality test strips once a day to show me that I'm good enough or that something might be off, and only have to use the Taylor kit once or twice a week to get a detailed reading of...

Why the inconsistency of ranges between test kits and other sources of info?

Add one more to those thousands - I'm here because of Clorox and their "shock xtra blue 6 in one drain your pool so you can add more Clorox products"

Why the inconsistency of ranges between test kits and other sources of info?

I've noticed that every test kit company or source of information has different "ideal" ranges. For example, the ideal range of CYA from different places is: Clorox pool app 30-150 Pool Chem Calculator 60-80 Pool Math 30-60 Leslie's Pool app 50-100 AquaChek 30-50 HTH 40-70 Total Hardness...

    Pool Math and chemicals

I did find this out this evening. The bottle says "Shake Well"... It should've also said "because contents at the bottom are the consistency of 4 yr old paint in a can"...

    Pool Math and chemicals

We do have a Walmart, but it's been out of the granular CYA for a few weeks now. No Home Depot here though. A local hardware store is the only place that has CYA, but it's the Bioguard Instant Stabilizer 100 (liquid)

    Pool Math and chemicals

What about the liquid? All I can find locally is the Bioguard Instant Stabilizer 100, which I assume is cyanuric acid plus whatever ingredients to keep it stable in liquid form?

    Pool Math and chemicals

First year pool noob - I am using the Pool Math app, and setting up a ~7,000 above ground pool. I need to add CYA, and I am assuming that the dry stabilizer is %100 cyanuric acid? If it's mentioned, I haven't seen it yet.
