Why the inconsistency of ranges between test kits and other sources of info?

I've noticed that every test kit company or source of information has different "ideal" ranges.

For example, the ideal range of CYA from different places is:
Clorox pool app 30-150
Pool Chem Calculator 60-80
Pool Math 30-60
Leslie's Pool app 50-100
AquaChek 30-50
HTH 40-70

Total Hardness
Clorox pool app 175-275
Pool Chem Calculator - couldn't find one
Pool Math 0-650
Leslie's pool app - couldn't find one
AquaChek 275-600
HTH 200-500

An ideal ppm for CYA according to Clorox is nearly twice the ideal ppm for AquaChek? I assumed the chemistry would be pretty consistent across the board?
I also checked Leslie's pool app against the Taylor treatment guide that came in my kit, that I bought from Leslie's - and their numbers are different too.

That assumption would be incorrect. There are no standards in non-commercial pool sanitation.

Consider the source. Both Chlorox and Leslie's want you to buy gobs of their CYA laden products. No kidding they are higher.

Aquacheck doesnt care to sell you more CYA as long as you test 6 times a day and need more strips.

I can tell you that all 3 do so poorly that we have thousands of members because of each of them. We have not lost many members in the reverse. (Of the ones who stayed long enough to learn)

I think there is a level of trust built here, which has a foundation in the chemistry.

For example, here is CYA content that has citations for why:

Here is some CH content with citations for why:

Is there any other place that opens the Kimono and shares the "WHY?"

Add one more to those thousands - I'm here because of Clorox and their "shock xtra blue 6 in one drain your pool so you can add more Clorox products"
