    Taking the plunge!

We opted for simply brushed concrete - the concrete guy (who actually put in a patio for us a couple of years ago) said it would be less slippery than any other option; I trust him, as he could have recommended the stamped (which I prefer the look of) and made quite a bit more $ off the project.

The process has continued...today the concrete around the pool is being poured. Monday the liner goes in and then water will be delivered.

Valves...Can you tell me more? What are the questions I should be asking?

    Taking the plunge!

Thanks for the added information - one of the concrete folks we spoke to talked about a special sealant we could use to help prevent a slippery surface, but it requires regular maintenance. Given that many things fall solely on me, low to no maintenance is my goal. ;) It's looking as though...

    Taking the plunge!

Thanks for asking - the pool will be 18x40 - Fort Wayne Steel -as of now, rectangular shape, sundeck - to 3ft, gradual to 5. We should see the actual drawings within a few days before finalizing. Pump, Filter, Heater - Pentair; pump is variable speed/cartridge 2 skimmers, 3 returns and 2...

    Taking the plunge!

Fair question...my husband had always been the 'go to' for the pool maintenance - until several years ago, when do to significant medical situations he was no longer able to. Everything fell on me, which meant a lot of learning - thank goodness for TFP - I learned how to maintain the...

    Taking the plunge!

After years with an above ground pool (and countless headaches) it has been decided that an in-ground pool is the way to go...so hoping this doesn't mean more headaches - I'm simply 'going with the flow' on this one; hubby is taking the lead. After a lot of research (including a lot of...

No flow on SWG - how to trouble shoot

Still at it - Levels early this a.m. FC 13 (same as last night) CC .5 (was 0 last night) TA 130 (was 110 last night) PH 7.5 (same last evening) CYA 30 CH 120 Do I need to be concerned about the elevated TA, since the PH is in range? Water is indeed looking good, have kept filter on 24x7...

No flow on SWG - how to trouble shoot

BIG mistake! Just realized that I shocked much higher than I should have - based on CYA level! UGH! Some day I might get this all under control!

No flow on SWG - how to trouble shoot

Thanks! For now, I guess that's the plan then. I have to continue to slam (lost more than 1.0 on TC overnight) - I have been using the SWG levels for slamming, but since the SWG isn't generating, should I work with the levels recommended for a non-SWG pool? The ph was ok before I started, but...
