After 4 hours of the Permatex epoxy drying on the inside, I put the lid back on and turned the pump on, and it primed immediately. I cut it off and it still sprayed some water from the top, but cut it back on and it stayed primed. Now I have to find a new lid. If anyone knows where I can get...

I can't find one locally, and haven't had much luck on line. I have a WMC AT1800 pump. I'm going to put some stuff on the inside of the lid and try to make it as airtight as possible and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Jason. I actually started doing this exactly as you described. I had the bottom drain on, skimmer off, then slowly opened the skimmer. It's barely pulling anything into the skimmer, but it's running. On my pool, I only have 1 skimmer, and I have to run it with the bottom drain off for it...

Any more ideas after I posted the additional info and pictures as requested?

The pipe on the left is the bottom drain, the right is the skimmer. As you can see, the pipes for the bottom drain and skimmer come into a T then into the pump, so I think that would eliminate the pump and the T fitting in the pump since the bottom drain works fine.
