Calcium Hardness and PH too high

Hi there. I'm getting the pool ready and after testing came up with these numbers: PH=8.2+ FC=0 Calcium=475 ALk=100 CYA=55 Pool Math says I need to empty pool 45% and add new water for hardness. Is there any other way to get the level down? Thanks in advance!

    Chlorine test goes from a 5 to a 1 in a minute

Quick question: is it normal when testing FC level for the color of in the testing tube to lighten up within a minute or so? Mine went from a 5 to a 1. FC....1 PH....7.5 CYA...40 Monsoon rains have pounded us pretty hard this month....just thought I would throw that out there.

    Water won't hold chlorine

Thanks for all your help! I went ahead a did a diluted CYA test and it came out to about 130. The first time I tested the CYA I couldn't see the black dot when the liquid in the tube was about half way between bottom and the 100 mark (not a lot of liquid).

    Water won't hold chlorine

    - - - Updated - - - Here are some pics of my pool pump and filter. I don't see any settings on the filter. There are no levers to adjust and there are 2 areas that can be considered drains.....one is a wide pvc pipe and the other is a metal spout with a red knob. If I use a sump pump to drain...

    Water won't hold chlorine

Thanks. Not sure what "diluted CYA" means. Is that on the CYA instruction page on this site. To empty pool will a sump pump work?

    Water won't hold chlorine

First time pool owner in Arizona. I have been dealing with this issue for about 3 weeks. Water is crystal clear but won't hold chlorine. I just received my TF-100 kit in the mail last night so I tested today. Here are the results(hopefully I did this right): PH 7.2 TA 120 FC 0 TC ? CYA 100+...

    Introduction

Hi! My name is Toni. I am a new pool owner. In the first year of ownership I decided to hire someone to care for the pool. They were not really affiliated with a pool company and it soon became apparent to me that this was not going to work out because they were not coming to the house...
