    Muriatic acid

Seems like best deal I found is Homedepot HDX, 2 gal for $20. Its not the nearest HD, as mine does not carry it. Will need to drive 10 miles one way to pick up, but worth it. Will just get 8 gallons to last for a while

    Muriatic acid

Ace Hardware store online says its not in stock near me. And when I was at HD, I did check their outdoor garden section that had pool stuff, it was not there. Will need to check Lowes garden section, but I doubt it. Lowes website no longer shows good strength muriatic acid, as if they...

    Muriatic acid

The pool stores in my area now want ridiculous $16 per gallon of muriatic acid. Lowes/Homedepot seems to carry "green" stuff only. I am in south jersey, not sure where to buy it at good price.

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

Just paid $8 a gallon for 12.5% liquid chlorine in southern NJ :( This is from local pool store. Liquid Pool Essentials from Walmart $5.67 looks attractive, even though its 10%. Prices are crazy for Dang bleach

    Liquid chlorine Pricing

I used to get 12% liquid chlorine from local pool store in 2.5g jugs. This year it costs $6 per gallon. In Homedepot I can buy 10% 1g liquid chlorine for $4.50(pool essentials). Assuming both are fresh, is there any point buying 12% and paying $1.50 more per gallon vs 10%?

first opening after new plaster - scale in Jacuzzi

In I was told, When water becomes aggressive it dissolves plaster and produces calcium hydroxide which drives TA up. I think this can happen when plaster is less than 1 year old, but mine is 2 years old, so I would think it should not be the case. You closed with very low TA.

first opening after new plaster - scale in Jacuzzi

Do you have numbers before close and right after open? Did you experience alkalinity increase as well?

first opening after new plaster - scale in Jacuzzi

Interesting, its different view point from Orenda. Since its 2nd opening with new plaster and it still happened, can plaster still be finishing "curing", or would be a defect at this point? The plaster appears to be in good shape. Orenda is recommending for anyone who lives in freezing temps...

first opening after new plaster - scale in Jacuzzi

BTW, over winter my TA increased from 110 to 150 (and thats in entire pool after running pump). Orenda mentioned that it could make sense if water become very aggressive "alkalinity climbed due to new hydroxides introduced to your water (calcium hydroxide). It carbonated slowly into crystals...
