Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

Chuck, Thanks so much! There is one nearby. I'll probably grab some this weekend. The three foot one would be just about right for one run. I like having some hose in the line as my son and friends can really make the walls move and I worry about everything being rigid. Thomas

Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

Chuck, Can I ask your source for the 1.5" hose? I was thinking of using some braided hose from Lowe's, but it is a bit pricey. I do want to get away from the proprietary Intex stuff. I am finding it more and more annoying. It works well, but the hoses are too long and I would like to cut them...

Intex cartridge vs. Sand filters-size particle removed??

Got my 1,600 gph sand filter and overnight it appears to have gotten out the last bit of annoying cloudiness that wouldn't go away with the 2,500 gph cartridge filter. Thanks to those who posted that Wal-Mart deal here!! This said, the water flow is down a lot and I miss that for the skimmer...

    Borax add taste to water?

That's what I thought too. I did just have one thought and I bet it might be the cause. I was amusing my son and neighbor friends by putting "slipperifier" (liquid dis detergent) on the sliding board. I later observed them jumping into the pool with very sudsy bathing suits. I wonder if that...

    Borax add taste to water?

Borax was recommended here as a way to improve water quality and I thought I would try it. None of the other stuff had given the water any sort of taste (other than the salt which is very weak). And you do have to put stuff in the water or you wind up with an ugly green swamp.

Intex pools, this is how to run the skim and main together

Re: Intex pools, this is how to run the skim and main togeth I tried this and it worked well, thanks! I am now thinking of using the 1 1/2" PVC to thread adapter on the intake side and cut its length down enough to allow me to put the screen over it. The main point would be to allow me to screw...

    Borax add taste to water?

Ok, I know we aren't supposed to drink pool water, but some will inevitably find its way into the mouth. After I started adding Borax, we began noticing an oily, soapy and very persistent bad taste from the water in the pool. The taste doesn't hit at first, but builds and then persists for...

Intex cartridge vs. Sand filters-size particle removed??

Well done, that should take care of the faulty listening :-) I'll have to look into it myself. Hate the grass in the pool, though it is turning into sand in the pool as the pool water does not seem to be good for my St. Augustine grass. Time for some pavers. Sigh!

Intex cartridge vs. Sand filters-size particle removed??

Hmm, I do still have a kiddie pool left that we raised ducks in. Wonder if my wife will tolerate it :-) My son and friends also have listener issues. And I thought it was an isolated incident :-)

Intex cartridge vs. Sand filters-size particle removed??

I've been doing that with a bucket, but a tub would be a lot better. Amazing what they can track in!!

Intex cartridge vs. Sand filters-size particle removed??

I would like to keep it as a backup, but money is tight now. I think I can make this a no cost upgrade and that would help at the moment. I hope I can sell the new SWG and cartridge filter pump for what I am out in cash or a little more on this with no problems. I may sell the old SWG, but I...

Total Alkalinity recommendation from pool store

Thanks all! I did clean about half the bottom into the yard today, so that stuff should be gone for good. I know the filter is catching some of it, but not the majority. When I get the sand filter and know what sort of connection is has for a waste hose, I will get a hose so I can dump it in...
