Tear at the seam of the liner!

Thanks for the reply! The first glue I bought was bad. I got a piece of damaged liner and a better glue at Club Piscine. It worked like a charm on the first try. I haven't lost any water in 2 days. I don't expect it to last forever, but if I can wait until spring to change the liner, I'll avoid...

Tear at the seam of the liner!

Thank you for the suggestion. It's an above ground pool so the tear is only accessible from the inside. I will for sure try to find some gorrila or flex tape, but I think that my only option is to find a way to apply a patch. The tape is my next move, but I'm not sure.

Tear at the seam of the liner!

Thanks for replying! Yeah, I tried that but the vinyl in the kit seems a bit too thin, and rolls on itself the second we apply the glue. Also, since the tear is at the bottom, it makes it super difficult to reach and keep it dry. What I think I'll have to do it find a thicker piece of vinyl, and...

Tear at the seam of the liner!

My liner is about 4 years old. It's vinyl. I have a 4-6 inch by 1/2 inch tear, right where the wall and the floor meet. Behind the tear is the isolation, so it doesn't seem (at least to my eye) to be leaking quickly. I bought one of those repair kits with the glue and transparent vinyl. The...

    Dead algea keeps coming back.

Thank you! It makes more sense now. We are new to pools, it can sometimes be very confusing!

    Dead algea keeps coming back.

Thank you for replying. No the water is crystal clear. I looked at the SLAM video. Surprisingly, that's pretty much what I did, not perfectly, but in that direction. Last summer, we had our baby, so I only started the pool and put chlorine in it, just so it would be running. That's clearly the...

    Dead algea keeps coming back.

I have what I think would be dead algea at the bottom of my above ground pool. It's fine like flour, brown and dissipated like a cloud. If I vaccum to filter, all of it comes back within a day and more and more for the week. I took the entire day to vaccum very slowly to waste. Since the pool...

    Winterizing Heater

I bought an above ground pool at the end of July this year. I got the pool heater. I live way up north in Canada and I need to close my pool soon. I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube about how to winterize a pool, but I found nothing about the heater. What steps should I take to make sure...

Not sure if my bottom drain is working!

Thanks everyone, it all makes much more sense now.

Not sure if my bottom drain is working!

I do have a 4 way switch. I triple checked that and the water is flowing 50/50. Is the bottom drain more for water circulation than for debris? When I used my vacuum, the suction was weak. Should I switch all the suction to the skimmer before using it? Could I use the red product to test the...

Not sure if my bottom drain is working!

I had my first pool installed recently and I'm unsure if my bottom drain is working properly. I think that I can feel water flowing in the pipe coming from under the pool, but I feel like the drain cover was installed incorrectly. It's very much like this one (Hayward). The difference is, the...
