Should I take down 18'x48" Intex Pool?

Hello! We got a new intex pool this year. We had one in the past that lasted a few years and we always took it down and stored it for the winter. We just emptied and cleaned this one and I am wondering if it's okay to keep it up empty. I am worried about the cold (Ohio) damaging the liner. I...

    Opeining Pool - Green water

What color are you rinsing out of the filter? I thought I had algae until I realized by some threads on here that it was iron. Metals can turn the water green but it's still clear. It will also deposit on the filter. Mine was a gold/green deposit. Just a thought... Everyone on this board knows...

    Tips and Tricks

Re: A couple of tips I thought everybody knew. Anybody got We have well water and after my water is balanced upon opening I add a metal sequestrant due to iron. I learned on this board last year to put paper towels in the filter basket to catch the iron. It's amazing how the paper towel will...

Shocking process... FC not coming down.

You were right... CYA was at 60 (I think I tested last time too soon) and FC is down to a 7 today! My sequestrant says to put it in when FC is a 3 or less. What is your expert opinion? I am at my target FC level based on the Chlorine/CYA chart. Do you think I'm okay? Water is really clear today...

Shocking process... FC not coming down.

Hmm, I'll test again. Could water temp have anything to do with it? It has not gotten above 70 (outdoor temp) since it has been filled.

Shocking process... FC not coming down.

I started the shock process on Sunday. Our pool is a round AG 16x48 filled with well water. When I initially tested these were my results... FC 0 PH 7.8 CYA 0 TA 210 CH 500 I used the pool calc. to make my adjustments and bring it up to shock level. I am now at FC 12 PH 7.5 CYA 30 I am getting...

Can't swim while swg is running?

I see, that makes sense. We are plugging it into a GFCI. Thank you!

Can't swim while swg is running?

I read in my instruction manual that you can't run the swg while the pool is occupied. I have read on here that people suggest running it during the day though so I am confused. is it just the brand? I have an Intex Krystal Clear.

Opening with SWG for first time.

Perfect! Thanks!! That answered all of my questions... for now! :) I did add sequestrant last year but with how messed up my water was before finding the BBB method, it's hard to tell if it helped.

Opening with SWG for first time.

This will be a new fill. Should put bleach in to get my tac level where it should be before using salt and generator?

Opening with SWG for first time.

Hello all! I am about to open my 16x46 above ground pool. Last year (our first year) I didn't find you guys and start the BBB method until it was too late and I had already messed it up! :) I was able to get my hands on a salt water filter (used). Everything I have read says to just put in salt...

Put Pool over mole holes... starting over. Iron tips?

Well, we were hoping we wouldn't have to drain it, but our 14'x48" pool just keeps sinking on one side. We are almost at a 5" difference and there's no sign of it stopping. My husband is already planning on how to keep it from happening. We had horrible moles last year and the ground must have...

    Well Water

I can try. I only have a test that goes to FC 5 so I think it will be hard to tell. I am not getting a better test kit at the moment so this one will have to do. I will try it though! What do I do if I don't pass it? Shock process?

    Well Water

I do know we have an iron problem because we are constantly rinsing it out of the filter... it is getting better and the water is ble, it's just not crystal. My big issue right now is that I will put enough bleach to raise to a FC:10 (per the pool calculator), check in the morning at a level 6...
