Can't wait to see how yours turns out. This is a project I will be taking on in a few weeks.

What makes a good pool construction contract?

Lana is correct, I have still not passed final inspection but due to final payment my PB is long gone. And if you read through my build I read on here I spent a month getting all the suggestions I could and still came up short. I do have one recommendation for you and they are local. I used...

What makes a good pool construction contract?

Here's what I learned from my build this summer.... 1. All parts listed with part numbers in the contract. (I did this and glad I did, no guessing what I got.) 2. 2" Piping, no ifs ands or buts. If they won't do it move on. So nice with a Variable speed pump to move water quickly. 3. Fill Dirt...

And the construction is done. It's been a long and expensive journey (did we really start in March?) but we love how the pool turned out. Enjoying it everyday and it is very relaxing just to be able to sit out by the pool after work. Landscaping and some patio umbrellas this weekend.

We're Finally Finished - With Day and Night Pictures

That is one beautiful pool. It is amazing how gratifying it is to design something and have it come out as you imagined. Love the designs on the deck. How are those done?

    Pump/Flow Issues

Thanks for the quick replies as usual. Ok I am going to see what we have at work for pressure gauges, I seem to remember having a 0-30 psi around that should be perfect and give me a more accurate reading. I will check the pump lid as I know it hasn't been lubed. I also remember an issue we...

    Pump/Flow Issues

So pool is installed and running finally. Now I am trying to learn the quirks of my new system. Here is my equipment breakdown along with a picture of my pump set up to help. Intelliflo VS-3050 Pump Hayward Sand Filter Aqua-Rite TC-Cell-9 (Not turned on currently) 2" PVC Piping and Valves...

    TheMilkman's Pool Build Journal

Fun day....my PB decided to fire his concrete guy the day before my deck is to be poured. Says my pour is delayed and he will probably have to use another company that uses their own guys. Be more expensive but I said not to me it won't. This really has been a wild trip. So close to being done...

New pool was filled last night... and now...

Without a test kit it is going to be hard to decide where to go. Best bet right now is to take a water sample to a local pool store so you can get your base numbers. Just get numbers, don't buy anything and post them up here. Everyone will help you and tell you what to add. Just go ahead and...

    When can I swim?

Great to hear, thanks for the quick replies! It's hot here in NC and I'm ready to use this pool.

    The Dig Is Too Deep!

With a liner pool I would be worried about that interface of the bottom of the wall to the concrete. Mine slopes away from the wall in the deep end and the vermiculite actually came up and covered that interface. How would they slope the concrete from the bottom of the wall or is your pool going...

    When can I swim?

Finally done with the build and now on to the newbie questions about testing and balancing. Waiting on my TF-100 and just using the basic test kit PB provided my FC is 3.0 and my PH is 7.2 after putting in my conditioner on Sunday night. I have been using 73% cal-hypo on the pool as that is...

    TheMilkman's Pool Build Journal

I'll continue with the pictures for sure. No wrinkles in my liner and it looks great, I am very happy with my PB in that regard. The construction of the pool was top notch so far and I am pushing him to get the concrete perfect also. I am planning on running the concrete right up to the steps...
