Apologies - I'll add a signature to my profile. I do have automation via Aqualink RS6 however I don't recall that there is a function (or button) available to drain the spa.

How would I go about this? Is it possible to do using the pool plumbing or do you mean using some kind of external pump to transfer the spa water to the pool? Thanks.

Thanks for your response. Can you advise how I would plug the return in the spa in order to be able to replace the valve.

My main circulation pump failed a few days ago and while waiting for repair I noted that my hot tub drained. From various sites on the web I understand that this is normally indicative of a failed check valve which is allowing water from the hot tub to drain back to the pool. My question is...
