    Pool Closing in AZ

I am in Sacramento, CA but I imagine similar situation as you AZ pool owners. I run the pump (1.5hp single speed) 2hrs from 5am to 7am during winter months. I keep the Kreepy Krawler pressure-side cleaner going same as pump, and clean the bag once a week. Pool stays crystal clear with no...

ColorSplash 2G vs. 3G vs. everything else

I purchased a 252 LED Color pool light (120v) off eBay. He also sells a 12v version. I love the light. Many different light schemes/programs, 21 total I believe. You can't beat it for the price: http://cgi.ebay.com/252-LED-Color-Swimm ... 1e5c171a6e

    Solar Panel plumbing....

Just sharing how my solar system plumbing is; installed professionally by Solaron. It is self draining and has a check valve prior to the 3-way automatic valve (see top pic), and a check valve on the return side(bottom pic). Either way, if solar is off the 3-way valve closes, the supply line...

    Solar Panel plumbing....

If all you want is to make sure your panels are drained when the solar is off, install a check valve on the supply line going up to the panels, and then one that comes back down.

Good price on chlorine and MA in Sacramento

Good tip. I go to Sage Pools in Elk Grove and get the same type of deal, 4x 12.5% gal refills for $17.25. I had to put down a deposit on the yellow crate, too.

What Q's to ask before buying house with IG Pool?

Make sure it has all the necessary controls if it has been modernized. We bought a foreclosed home and had the pool inspected, all checked out OK. The issue that arose, neded the Jandy PDA to program the devices (filter pump, etc.). It ended up costing us ~$300 for the PDA. Had I known that...

A large drop in chlorine, but CC is 0

I rechecked CYA, being it has been a month+ since last time. It was below 30ppm, so I added ~1lb of stanilizer. We'll see in a few days if it helps.

A large drop in chlorine, but CC is 0

It seems like I am losing a lot of chlorine in short amount of time. I tested added chlorine Thursday evening ~5pm and level was ~10.5ppm. This morning I tested @ ~11am and the FC was 2.5. A loss of 8ppm in a full day of sun and 2 nights. My pool is not leaking; turned automated filler off...

Ready to purchase a new Jandy, but need a longer horizontal

I like your idea. I am shifting attention to the Pentair IntelliChlor IC 40. It seems to be economical for a first timer and looks fairly easy to install. The only issue I have with extending the return line vertically is they used a nub to connect a 45deg coupling to the valve, so nothing to...
