    filter lid fit issues

I’ll try this. I’ve been using a silicone spray lubricant. This is the o-ring I got: https://a.co/d/2byo8ej

    filter lid fit issues

I have a Sta-Rite PLM 150. It's pretty old. Has to be original and I'm guessing we are 15-20 years on this pool. I was having issues getting the lid/cover on it. I decided to replace the o-ring. The lid simply won't fit on there with the o-ring. New one or old one. It's like the housing is...

very dirty - drain and refill?

The replacement method isn’t quite working. It helped some. I went to fire up my pump and determined the gasket on my cartridge filter needs replaced. Heading out of town for a few days. Will pick this up when I’m back. I just need to let the filter do its job here I think. The good news is my...

very dirty - drain and refill?

Thank you. That was going to be my approach if I wasn't confident in the numbers.

very dirty - drain and refill?

Ok, double check my math here guys per the replacement draining method. I am confident in the temp, hardness, CYA, and alkalinity in these numbers. The salt is a big variable here. I have a chlorine pool, but it's a mess. I threw shock in there, but that's about it. It says to use 1000 for my...

very dirty - drain and refill?

Holy Darn. I see an excel sheet in my future. Do I need to drain? It’s a chlorine pool with a cartridge filter. Weighing cost and time associated with letting the filter get all the matter out vs. the water replace method. Any opinions?

very dirty - drain and refill?

I have a 15000 gallon fiberglass pool. Last year, I had to get a new cover, but it didn't show up until a bunch of leaves fell in it. Like a bunch. I think I'm getting close to getting at least the leaves off the bottom. Of course the water is very dark. I expected that. I'm wondering if there...

3” tabs not dissolving very well

Last year I used this Pentair 300 with 3” tabs no problem. This year, they are not dissolving at a rate to keep my chlorine levels where they need to be. I threw some in the skimmer just to see how that does and it still feels like they aren’t dissolving like they did last year. I have the 300...

    Replacement Filter

It is an in ground. About 33’ x 15’ and somewhat kidney shaped. There are trees around it. and depending on the year, most of the seeds fall before I open it, rest is just normal junk that falls. But, on average, it for sure is a dirtier pool than most for those reasons.

    Replacement Filter

The current filter has a drain line plumbed in. Figured I could use that. Otherwise, I have an easement that I can dump into no problem.

    Replacement Filter

Thanks for the replies. Let me start at the beginning then. I have a 15k gallon pool. What else do I need to look at for sizing to see if what I have is undersized to your point.

    Replacement Filter

Oh I was under opposite impression. Don’t you just backwash a sand filter as maintenance? Seems easier than pulling out cartridge and cleaning it.

    Replacement Filter

I’m looking to replace my cartridge filter with a sand filter. I currently have a Sta-Rite PLM 150 with a Pentair Superflo 1HP Single Stage pump. The heater is a Raypak P-M206A. It lools like the pump has a 1.5” outlet and the current filter is 2”. I was looking at the Hayward 22” Sand Filter...

    Raypak heater sensor failure

It was the sensor. Thanks all!
