    Tiki torch oil in pool!

Kids were climbing on the waterfall and accodentlybknocked over a tiki torch and oil dropped in the pool. Oil was visible on the surface. I added pool first aid. That seemed to have broken up the oil on the surface almost immediately. How long should I keep everyone out of the pool? Nothing on...

WetEdge Luna Quartz and light replacement opinions?

We have the Luna Quartz finish and it feels very smooth compared to pebble tec. We went with the St Maarten color and absolutely love it. The pool is only 2 months old so really can't comment on longevity. I have read that it may appear streaky or blotchy but our pool looks very uniform in...

    Monthly chemical costs

How much are you all spending monthly on chemicals for a salt water pool? In the first two months I've spent about $100. But that included chlorine tabs that was needed for initial start up and a 25 lb bag of baking soda that I still have plenty of. So maybe my average cost has been around...

    Wet edge re-plaster

We have a wet edge luna quartz in St. Maarten. The color is already deep blue and it was installed only 2 weeks ago. The water is still silty from all of the dust still coming out of the finish but we are already happy with it. There are some areas where the color looks a bit uneven, but it...

    Redneck HotTub Build Thread

Are you planning for a sanitation system? I'd be concerned that heating untreated lake water would result in a high bacteria count. Plus any stagnant water in your system would also be an area of concern. But other than that, it should like a very interesting project.

Florida pool child safety law compliance

Thanks. Talked to the construction manager today and he gave me the details. Seems he already discussed my fence with the inspector. (It's in pretty rough shape) will patch the fence and add spring hinges to the existing gates to pass inspection (will probably be at the end of next week). Then...

Florida pool child safety law compliance

So if my backyard is already fenced in, I just need to make sure the gates meet the specifications? The paver deck and pool takes up nearly all of my backyard.

Florida pool child safety law compliance

Thanks. The door and window alarms look to be the cheapest route. Bought a set of those on Amazon. Will install that on Monday. Should have my final inspection mid to late week next week. This has been a fast build!

Florida pool child safety law compliance

Now reading the law it says I need Only one of the following. One of the choices is a pool alarm that meets astm standardf2208. Kind of expensive but would be the easiest option.

Florida pool child safety law compliance

We are not screening in our pool but obviously need to be compliant with the child pool safety law. I understand that all windows and doors must be alarmed. But it sounds like my yard fence cannot count as a barrier because it encloses more than just the perimeter of the pool. Am I reading that...

Recommend a robotic cleaner for <$1,000

Putting in a new pool and I'm about midway through construction. I know virtually nothing and I'm looking for a recommendation for a type and model of a good automatic pool cleaner. I am kind of under the assumption that with an automatic pool cleaner and a little bit of work I can manage my...

New pool first time owner Tampa Fl

Day 9 of construction. Plumbing and electrical completed today. Not much to show picturewise. The pad the PB provided is pretty small and seems to be styrofoam coated in a thick plastic. How long could this possibly last in the elements? Will most likely upgrade that in the future. Decided to...
