    Sand vs DE filtlers

Three weeks ago I removed the old sand and cleaned the tank and laterals with fresh water, added new sand and have been running the pump 24/7.

    Sand vs DE filtlers

I've had the same sand filter for 15 years and have been generally happy with its performance, this year no so much. I've been slamming the pool for two days and the clarity is little improved. The filter doesn't seem to capture the algae unless I introduce 1/4 cup of DE. Within and hour the...

Vacuum head sticks to the pool bottom while cleaning,

My vacuum hose had leaks so I purchased a new one from Amazon. Quick delivery and looks to be of good quality. Started to vacuum with the new hose and the older (one year) vac head. It continually stuck to the pool and finally broke at the pivots. Any ideas.

    Water clarity

Having a difficult time getting my pool water clear. I finished slamming the water last week and still have a milky color to the water and I can only see 3 feet down in a 4.5 foot deep pool. I just bought a new Taylor K-2006 test kit and todays results are below. FC 3.5 CC .5 PH...

    Slightly Cloudy Water

When we returned from vacation, pool was being "watched" by my son-in-law, the water was slightly cloudy and the pump had died. Quickly ordered and installed a new pump and started to chlorinate to shock levels with bleach. It was somewhat difficult to get it clear so I started adding D.E. to...

    Out of round replacement liner

I've had an above ground pool for over 35 yrs and have installed 5 liners during that time. Always easy to install until I ordered a replacement liner from linerworld.com. Received the liner promptly and after prepping the pool floor, I proceeded to install the liner. After hours of fighting...

    Another Iron Stain Story

Another iron stain story. This year, when the pool cover was removed, I discovered six Pennsylvania field stones, that I use for garden edging, at the bottom of the pool(granddaughters confessed). Got the stones out and got everything running but I noticed the tea stains on the walls and bottom...

    Fine Particles

First year at this site and first post. What a great place - this is what the internet is all about. My pool is clear but my problem is fine particles that reappear on the pool floor an hour after I've vacuumed. I've seen that flocking agents aren't recommended so is there an altenative. Is...
