For what it's worth, I'm having the same problem.

Walmart has 10% pool chlorine (bleach) in their lawn/garden dept. It's about $3.70 per gallon. At least that's the case here in sw GA.

Thanks for the comments. In looking at mine, it seems that the unit's plastic case is sealed when it is made. IOW, there is no apparent way to disassemble it. So, I don't see how repair is possible. But still people buy and sell them on ebay for parts and repair. Go figure.

I see several Intellichlor IC40 swg on ebay for sale "as not working for parts or repair." Is it possible to repair these? Are there any useful parts to be salvaged other than the flow switch?

I have this exact same cleaner as well and am very happy with it. I concur with all these comments. I cannot yet speak to it's longevity as it is now just in the second season of use. It has a 2 year warranty. So far it has been trouble free.
