If it won't prime do I just shut everything down and wait out this last cold day and night? The fountains are on a seperate pump but the same circuit so I can't slpit the power.

Guess I'm breaking out the Dremel tomorrow night and cutting it off. Easy enough to get another bolt from Lowe's with a hex head. Wish I could do it tonight but we have the potential for baseball size hail. Good times!

No luck with PB Blaster or anything else. The bolt itself just spins and there's nothing to grab onto with the head of the carriage bolt. I'm out of ideas except for grinding it off.

I'm trying to take my filter apart for the first time and I can't get the bolts holding the ring to budge. Am I going to have to cut them off and get new ones?

I do see a vortex when the skimmer is on. The biggest thing I noticed was the water level in the pre pump strainer is lower with that skimmer valve open. I also noticed air bubbles coming from the return jets that go away when that skimmer valve is shut off. I've never had a problem with this...
