Check your warranty to see when it expires if you install yourself vs having it installed by a pro. I learned the hard way with Pentair pump that went out quickly.

Regarding warranty, make sure you understand the contingencies they place on installations that aren't done by a certified installer. I replaced a pump last year that was noisy, but working fine. I bought a 2-speed pentair whisperflo last spring from on online supplier, installed it myself...

Does anyone have experience with Automatic Pool Covers out of Indiana?

I think I have it pinned down -- cover is made by Automatic Pool Covers in IN. 18 oz vinyl cover with "vinyl" webbing, 1/4" woven nylon rope with Kevlar core. Does anyone have thoughts or experience with this cover manufacturer or choice of materials?

The pictures certainly answer that very clearly. I'm baffled that a sales guy would say they run vinyl in that channel. Maybe a misunderstood him.

Any thoughts on who might me making this cover? It looks different than the PCS covers I've had in the past.

That's what I was thinking also. I've never seen a sample that included the rope. I'll call them to see if they can bring one over.

Has anyone seen a cover where the vinyl goes all the way into the channel and around the rope instead of webbing? CoverCare is telling me that's the way their covers are built, but I can't find anything similar on the net. Webbing seems to be the chronic problem on my covers. Thoughts?
