Need to clean my SWG cell but haven’t done so before help with disconnecting?

I think the cell might be nearing its end of life, i’m not sure. It occasionally wants me to ad salt (red light), and sometimes the light will go off even if I don’t. A couple of days ago the “nearing end” light came on. Then the clean light came on. Then, both lights went away (all green lights...

Need to clean my SWG cell but haven’t done so before help with disconnecting?

Looking at the manual it mentions capping off the pipes if I need to? Do I need to, or is simply turning the pool off ok? I’ve never disconnected this before. I don’t think I have any caps so what would I need to purchase?

What did you do to your pool today?

This stuff right here, can kiss my butt... :pth: I managed to keep the pool clear all winter with minimal effort, first time since moving in that I didn't have to start things off with a ton of bleach! The water has been getting super cloudy with pollen now however so today I backwashed...

Why don't I ever have to adjust my PH?

Not that I am complaining at all, lol. I just find it really odd, when I see so many post about battling PH rise and such, especially with a SWG. Typically, I have to adjust my ph once a year, and that is usually to bring it up some after opening for the season. Otherwise, every single time I...

    Bugs

Looks like thirps. They seem common this time of year. I've never personally had them but it seems they are often on vegetation around the pool and get blown in, rather then actually seeking the pool out, so you might want to check around the plants in the yard.

First time pool owner. CYA reading 100+ in green pool. How and how much to drain to lower it?

What type of surface do you have? Maybe you've said somewhere, I might have missed it. That greatly effects how you would replace the water

    Microscopic bugs in pool

I'm no bug expert but I'm still going to guess Thirps. They bite, some (most) are wingless, they vary in color from light tan to brown, they have that skinny tubular shape, are tiny, and they seem common to get in pools. If I trace in photoshop this is the shape I get.. I see 3 sections, large...

CYA and FC trade off in the TEXAS SUMMER HEAT

I would first suggest running an overnight loss test, just to make SURE it's the sun before you increase CYA. Increasing CYA when you have active algae is a costly mistake. It will take so much more chlorine to get rid of it. You should do this with your own test kit, not pool store OR STRIPS...

    Water leaking during shocking

Just a suggestion... chlorine is the most important part of the slam. The filter should be going yes, but, I think that you could add chlorine by pouring it around the pool and then bushing well with a brush to mix it up..while you work on the leak. It will at least help to not backslide.

First Pool Measurement with TF-100, New owner to pool!

Liquid is a lot more expensive, you can usually pick up some powder stabilizer from stores like walmart, lowes. We suggest placing the powder into a sock (I use a nylon stocking), tying it to a pole, and hanging it infront of a return. Then every now and then go outside and squish it up. The...

First Pool Measurement with TF-100, New owner to pool!

Hello! good job! Those numbers aren't too bad :) Are you having any issues with your water, or just wanting to take control of things? CYA is something you have to add to the pool - if you haven't it won't appear on the test. It can come from a few sources like floating tablets, some types of...
