Shipping TF 100 test kit to Australia

Well, I can't find my missing post anywhere, so I'm not sure what happened to it?!? I went into a fair bit of detail, and probably can't recall everything (or have the time now to re-write it now. In a nutshell... The link to the previous thread about test kits in Aus is here...

Shipping TF 100 test kit to Australia

Hmmm... I posted a detailed reply earlier with the link, but it's not here now?!? I'll see if I've posted it in the wrong thread... Nope... lots of shops in QLD, but unfortunately they all seem to have the same agenda. I started off faithfully taking my samples down to the local shop every...

Shipping TF 100 test kit to Australia

G'day mate! There are a couple of posts on this forum about getting good test kits here in Oz. I'll post the links next time I'm on my computer. Just make sure you get the drop test for chlorine. Not sure if any of the Palin kits available in Australia (especially from a pool shop) will have...

Test Kit Opinion needed! First time pool owner.

    I have the K-2006 and I love it... don't get the K-2005

    CYA level and SWG

Like suziqzer says, I'm actually running at about 50ppm CYA and only running the SWG 4 hours a day on the lowest pump flow an the lowest SWG output and everything is perfect. It winter here and the small pool is getting no use, but the point is you don't HAVE to have 70ppm... just monitor things...

    CYA level and SWG

sorry... probably not 'run time' speaking technically because run time is more determined by filtration needs. I mean chlorine output percentage on the SWG which determines the time the SWG is generating chlorine. More CYA means less chlorine loss an less chlorine demand.

    CYA level and SWG

The main reason, as I understand it, for the higher recommended CYA levels on this forum is to reduce pH rise. Having more CYA means you can reduce run times on the SWG, and by reducing the associated aeration (as the water flows through the cell) it helps contain pH rise.

Test kit Avaliability in Auckland (NZ)

Yeah like jblizzle said, it does make a difference. It sounds like the same story as here in Oz... standard kit is the K-2005 at an outrageous price and if you can. Worked out much cheaper to import the 2006 than get the inferior 2005 locally.

    Another SWG PH question

Thanks all. I've never noticed the cell turning off and on, but then again I probably have never stood and watched it that closely for a straight 10-15 min period. Having said that, my cell definitely looks like its generating a lot more at higher settings and less when set lower (going by how...

    Another SWG PH question

Hi all, Just wondering what the consensus is on SWG runtimes and reducing PH rise. I've read enough on this forum to know that the operation of a SWG inevitably means PH rise and reducing runtime (and elevated CYA) is the goal. My question... is it the chlorine output setting or the actual...

Test kit Avaliability in Auckland (NZ)

Hey mate, See my post here (test-kits-available-in-australia-t27883-20.html?hilit=test%20kits%20australia) about my success in finally managing to get an excellent Taylor K-2006 kit shipped to Australia. Contact the super friendly guys there first for confirmation, but I'd be very surprised if...

    Pump not pumping water

Just an update for anyone finding this thread in a future search... it did it again this morning, but I've managed to narrow it down to a sticking weir door. I figured it out, but was running late for work so I'll need to suss it out a bit more tonight to see exactly why it's sticking... I...

    Pump not pumping water

Never mind... maybe a false alarm or maybe a warning sign, but it's all working again now. I'll give the lint pot o-ring a good grease next time I open it up. It was still in good condition but a bit dry, so maybe that was the weak link? Pays to do that "one last check" of everything before...

    Pump not pumping water

Hi All, Not sure how I'll go explaining this, but here goes... Short story is, my pump isn't pumping water. I first noticed this morning when it didn't come on at its scheduled start time. When I went down to check what was wrong, I saw the SWG had a "no flow" error and had turned the pump...
