Start AA treatment now or wait?

72F now. Couldn't stand the wait...just added 2 lbs AA about 10 minutes ago. I guess the question now is to buy something to put in it today, or try to hold off for 2 days until the purple stuff arrives?

Start AA treatment now or wait?

Planning to start AA stain removal today, but I just realized I don't have any Jack's Purple Stuff on hand. I ordered a few bottles, but they won't be delivered for 2 days. After calling around, it doesn't look like any local shops have any on hand....only BioGuard Pool Magnet plus. My FC is...

Superflo VS dying - need replacement options

I really appreciate it. This is my thought process exactly. I’ve learned to DIY a lot and save a TON of money over the last few years, but this may be worth paying a few hundred bucks extra to avoid the hassle. As a matter of fact, the easy touch panel I’ll be hooking into was purchased on one...

Superflo VS dying - need replacement options

Thanks everyone. Local pool store has a 011056 in stock. Is the three year Pentair warranty worth paying their price of $1,499 + $150 for install and connection to the IC4? Looks like I could snag one for $1100-1200 on one of the discount sites but would be stuck with a 90 day warranty and...

Superflo VS dying - need replacement options

My 1.5 HP Superflo VS is finally on it's last leg. I'd like to replace it with a truly VS pump that will work with my EasyTouch controller. Any recommendations? Bonus if the fittings are in the same place as my current pump and no plumbing revisions are needed! Replacing: M48AA95A03

    FC over 75

Holy Crud! Wow...I feel like a moron. Thanks for the data that caused me to take another look. With the initial test, I now realize I accidentally added R0003 instead of R0781. No wonder the sample looked so dark red and wasn't getting any lighter! With 500-10000 gallons left to fill, the...

    FC over 75

Yes, results sound crazy, but I'm sure. Pool is uncovered. Last checked probably a few weeks ago. Too long, but I've been out of town. Certainly wasn't ideal to have the new, much more powerful IC installed right before I left, but really no other options. When the pool is full again, I'll...

    FC over 75

Makes sense. I'm refilling now...should be done in a few hours. I'll retest when it's topped off and update.

    FC over 75

Dumped a few thousand gallons. Refilling now, then plan to add CYA to bring it back up to 75 or so. Any success with the sodium thiosulfate? I've heard nightmares about people overdoing it and then having to dump loads of Cl in. Willing to do it though if it can be controlled.

    FC over 75

Got back from vacation a few days ago. New salt cell and EasyTouch installed a few weeks ago. Finally tested the water this morning and shockingly (no pun intended) my FC is over 75 (I stopped adding the reagent). I'm in the process of starting a partial drain. Any other advice? I'm kind of...

    SWCG replacement needed....and more

Update. I finally pulled the trigger and upgraded to an ET4 w IC40. Still using my Superflo VS until it dies. Got the ScreenLogic also and am just learning how to use it all...just installed during a long day yesterday. Side note...shout out to my installer who identified a bad transformer...

    SWCG replacement needed....and more

Awesome, thanks! So is that definitely the ET model to use? Any other considerations? I'm really the most excited about the ScreenLogic. What sort of lighting control will this allow? Just on/off and timer function? Also, thoughts on changing over from sand to cartridge filter at the...

    SWCG replacement needed....and more

Thanks for the info. If I choose not to immediately replace the pump, could I just utilize one of the relays and control the pump speed manually on the pump? I assume I will need one relay for the SWCG and one for the lights. No other equipment to control, so I'd rather not buy something huge...

    SWCG replacement needed....and more

I think my IC-15 is finally officially DOA after 7 years. I will be replacing it with a larger capacity unit that is more appropriately sized for my pool. However, the power supply with the IC15 won't power any of the larger units, so I am considering an ET panel that is is packaged with an...
