    SWG - Power Consumption

20A GFCI breaker. The run to the pump is about 120 feet.

    SWG - Power Consumption

I have a Pentair Dynamo 1.5HP pump. The wiring is a mixture of 12 and 8 gauge. I tapped into an existing outside outlet to power the pump. So, the wiring inside the house is 12 gauge and the wiring from the house to the pump is 8 gauge. I'll add pool and equipment details to my signature.

    SWG - Power Consumption

I'm considering a SWG and have focused on the RJ60. However, my wiring setup has me concerned. The pump is really far from the house so I suffer from a fairly large voltage drop. With the pump running the voltage drops from 123 to about 113 to 114. I'm concerned that adding a SWG will cause...

    Voltage at Pool Pump

The pump was under warranty so I replaced it. I'm concerned this connection may have failed due to lower voltage (112V) at the pump. I did another test yesterday by turning on all the lights, TV, and ceiling fan that's on this same circuit. With everything running, it dropped to 110.5 volts...

    Voltage at Pool Pump

No, it's not on a dedicated breaker. It is 12AWG the entire length from the breaker to the pump. I'm estimating the total length of the wire (breaker to pump) to be about 220 feet.

    Voltage at Pool Pump

    12AWG on a 20 amp breaker.

    Voltage at Pool Pump

With the pump off it's 123 volts. Motor label shows 12 amps max.

    Voltage at Pool Pump

I've recently learned that lower voltage at the pump will cause it to fail prematurely. What is an acceptable voltage at the pool pump with it running? My 1.5hp Pentair pump measures about 112 volts and 8.9 amps while running. Is this acceptable? I'm concerned the wiring to my pump may not...

    Pentair Dynamo Pump Quit Working

My pool pump just suddenly stopped working. I removed he back cover and discovered one of the connections had been burned and broken. See attached pictures. The pump is only a few months old. It seemed to run perfectly fine until now. The outside of the motor never seemed to be overly hot...
