    PH and Salt

I am well versed in the "slam" process.Sorry to use such foul language in my post.I use a Taylor K2005 to test with and it is difficult to see the color change between FC and TC.I decided to use the FAS-DPD test to see if any CC would show up and low and behold it did. So,I SHOCKED(slammed) the...

    PH and Salt

Suspect I am having a small algae issue. Tested with the FAS-DPD last night after I shocked the pool and had 22.5ppm FC and the CC was registering, maybe 1 ppm..This morning it was 18 ppm FC. When I am shocking to algae levels, I leave the SWG running during the day and shut it at night when I...

    PH and Salt

Thanks for the advice Richard. Will retest this morning and adjust the salt only to get it to 3400 ppm per manufacturer. Also low on stabilizer,so will need a couple of pounds of that as well. The chlorine is a shade low,so would you adjust the stabilizer first or the salt ?

    PH and Salt

Hello To All, Have had an enormous amount of rain that has thrown my PH way high. Also had a low salt level of 2600 ppm so last night I threw a bag of salt in there and it raised it up to 2800 ppm. This morning I adjusted the PH,which was at 8.0 with just short of a quart of acid per the pool...

    No Free Chlorine in TN

Do not remember seeing anything mentioned on the use of algaecide or Pool Perfect. Should I be using this stuff or should I chuck it ? If the water is kept in balance with the parameters you have here,is there even a need ?

    No Free Chlorine in TN

To All Who Helped, Thank you all for your input with the shock process. It appears that the pool is alive and well.Water appears to be balanced and holding free chlorine just fine.It does seem to vary by the amount of heat/sunlight the pool sees. Will have to fine tune it as the season goes on.The...

    No Free Chlorine in TN

Started the OCLT on Monday night and mother nature decided to drop over 3" of rain water in the pool.Decided to just do it again this weekend since the results may be skewed by the rain.

    No Free Chlorine in TN

P.S.-The SWG was set at 60% all of last week.Wondering if it should have made it's way to a higher FC level, say maybe a 4-5 ppm.

Back in town and the pool is clear. It appears to have held FC since it had the shock regimen you guys walked me through. Here are the results as they read this morning ; K-2005 TEST KIT FC-2 ppm TC-2.5 ppm CC-.5 ppm PH-7.8 ALK-70 ppm CYA-40 ppm SALT-3600 ppm Bottom feels slippery. Will shock...
